The speed of light

Light moves fast, really fast.
Day in day out I feel compelled to try and match pace, to produce more, to do more, get more, faster and faster, regardless…

It’s a contagion and a trick, the two working in unison to extract more for the feeling of less.

I can’t remember the last time I made it to the end of a thing and felt totally satisfied, like ‘I’d made it’. I can remember finishing plenty of really significant things only to discover the next was eagerly awaiting my dwindling pool of hope, sometimes it had an equally keen partner.

Now we have the new panaseer everyone is talking about, computer programs that can seemingly talk and think like a person. This is good, now we can bolt on a few copilots and achieve even more, literally utilizing their speed of light.

And if I leverage one, or one thousand, I could go even faster…

Speed causes friction and friction causes heat, but I’m looking for meaning not flames so maybe the recipe has to change?
